TALES AND TRAILS TOUR - SATURDAY

BIBRA LAKE TOUR - SATURDAY - BOOKED OUT

Bibra Lake Wetlands and Nyungar Stories.
Lynnette Coomer talks about her experiences in Nyungar camps in the Perth metro area as well as living at Bibra Lake.
Nandi Chinna shares stories from 30 years of protecting and sharing the history of Bibra Lake at the Wetlands Centre.

CONFERENCE DINNER

Canapes and drinks on arrival.

EXPLORE COOGEE TOUR - SUNDAY
Date: Sunday, 14th September 2025
Time: 1:45pm - 3:45pm
Location: All tours leave from and return to the Jakovich Centre
Participants will have the opportunity to see the remnants of munitions bunkers and associated rail lines as well as rare stands of Rottnest Island Cypress near the Coogee Surf Lifesaving Club. The tour will pass the reconstructed lime kilns en route to the Coogee Jetty for views of the coastline from Fremantle to Woodman Point.

WOODMAN POINT QUARANTINE STATION TOUR - SUNDAY - BOOKED OUT
Date: Sunday, 14th September 2025
Time: 1:45pm - 3:45pm
Location: All tours leave from and return to the Jakovich Centre
This popular walking tour takes you to the isolation hospital, the oldest crematorium in Australia and more. There are also extensive displays within the heritage buildings.
Since 1851, the site has seen patients with influenza, including the Spanish flu after WWI, leprosy, smallpox, typhus and bubonic plague. It was the main quarantine facility for the state until 1978.
Listen to stories about former patients and staff and their experiences at Woodman Point. All shared by Friends of Woodman Point volunteer guides, many of whom are descended from those staff.
